Design Star 8: The Winner

Episode eight of HGTV’s Design Star – the final episode – aired September 11. All the contestants returned to see David crowned Design Star.
The Show
The format of the final Design Star was different from all the other episodes. The show followed a talk show format, with host Clive Pearse showing clips of past episodes and interviewing each of the contestants. The design hopefuls got a chance to confront each other and the judges. All the exchanges were good natured, though the tension between Donna and Temple appeared to be going strong. Vanessa was the only one who decided to challenge the judges. She complained about their decision to get rid of Joseph on Episode Two – a strange move, considering she sold him up the river during that elimination ceremony!
The Prizes
Alice and David, the two finalists, were surprised with new Mercury Mariner SUVs to congratulate them on their accomplishments. Only one contestant could win America’s vote, though, and David was announced to be the winner. He was awarded with a contract to host his own show on HGTV.
