The Wonder of a Coat of Paint 7/24
From LoveToKnow Interior Design
If you’re like me, you have a multi-page list of the projects you’d like to do around your house. I don’t know about you, but mine seem to start at $1000. Obviously, being a struggling writer, there’s a limit to how many of those I can tackle in one year – especially this year. Sometimes, I have to remind myself that not every project needs to be a major one. Sometimes, it’s the smaller ones that can make a big difference …which let me to thinking of paint.
Today, when I was outside enjoying the, finally cool, late morning breeze, my eyes hit on the concrete steps that have annoyed me for as long as I’ve lived in the house. (Don’t ask me why I never painted them; it’s just one of those things.) Today, I decided I’m finally going to do something about them. I even had the paint.
Fifteen minutes later, and using about $5 worth of paint, my side entryway was transformed. I think sometimes I miss the little projects while getting caught up in the bigger ones. So, I went looking for small painting projects. I found the outside window trim, the garden trellises (now purple and stunning), the inside window trim on my newest room that somehow was left unpainted and has hidden for two years behind draperies, and lots more. My two quarts and one gallon of paint plus an afternoon’s time has really made a difference. What about you? How many paint projects can you find around your house?
