I want to repaint my pool house, but I am not sure how to go about it. It is a cinder block structure with a concrete floor (not the most attractive, but I want to go for an industrial or contemporary look). The ceiling is 12 feet high and exposed. I thought of painting the ceiling black to hide cracks, dirt, imperfections, etc, but wasn't sure if that would make it too cave like. The exterior colors are a dark green and white. I would like to keep green as acsent color. Am I right by using the ciender block look and turning it into a modern theme, or should I try something else...maybe more country/out doors kind of look? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Our living room has a stone fireplace (mostly tan in color) with dark gray mortar, wood paneling halfway up the wall, wood paneled ceiling (the first owner taught wood shop)and carpet. We painted the upper half of the wall kind of a light tan color as well. We would like to install laminate flooring in either a wood or stone design, and are unsure of what color to get. Should we try to match the wood flooring to the paneling, or maybe the gray mortar to a gray stone-type laminate? Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.
